Location: Work from one of our four physical locations in Waupun, Wis.; Kaukauna, Wis.; Lansing, Mich.; or Grand Ledge, Mich., OR flexible to work from home, residing in Wisconsin, Michigan, or Indiana.

Your purpose:

Experience a career working with CentralStar Cooperative, a member of the Select Sires Federation and the fastest-growing Dairy Herd Information (DHI) program in the United States. As the Director of Integrated Services, you’ll be a senior member of the Executive Team and responsible for directly overseeing seven regional managers and a business unit with 200 employee team members and $40 million in annual revenue. You’ll work closely with other directors and business-unit managers with the primary objective of supporting artificial insemination (A.I.)-related sales, while assisting in reinforcement of the entire CentralStar portfolio.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Work closely with managers to develop and continually analyze a formal action plan for establishing and promoting service integration throughout our trade territory using our team structure and teamwork concept;
  • Provide supervision, positive guidance and feedback, annual reviews, and direction to Team Leader regional managers using effective communication, coaching, goal setting, and active-leadership modeling;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Organizational Development to create and implement various employee conferences for learning, professional development, goal sharing, and team building;
  • Facilitate new processes, tools, communication, training, technical design and methodologies to ensure team success while working with Team Leader regional managers to facilitate strong relationships;
  • Establish, communicate, and monitor clear, attainable goals with all team members;
  • Actively recruit, conduct interviews, and select new team members in accordance with CentralStar Cooperative guidelines to maintain adequate staffing levels;
  • Action financial knowledge to properly and actively prepare and manage an annual department budget;
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Executive Team to understand business strategies, goals, objectives, and key performance measures of the organization;
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and other planning sessions, providing direction and leadership to the organization;
  • Maintain an understanding of company policies and procedures to ensure fair and consistent application, conferring with Human Resources as necessary;
  • Actively work to expand personal knowledge through professional development;
  • Strives to continually build trust, value others, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively, and demonstrate high integrity; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a strong dairy-industry background;
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, agri-business, or a related field;
  • Five or more years of experience as a manager or leader is required;
  • Outstanding people skills, with service-oriented attitude;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Exceptional public-speaking skills, including pre-speech preparation, dynamic delivery efforts, and the ability to interact with the audience and answer questions;
  • Must be self-motivated with a high degree of initiative;
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills required;
  • Display consistent professionalism;
  • Demonstrate ability to engage and motivate others;
  • Strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team structure;
  • Must be able to honor confidentiality;
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record;
  • Must be able and willing to travel, as necessary, throughout CentralStar’s service area; and
  • Excellent computer skills, including but not limited to e-mail, spreadsheets, presentation programs, and customer-management programs, with the ability to learn other associated software, as needed.
