Seven (7) winners will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Two of the scholarships are designated for technical-school or short course students. Winners will receive notification (in August or September) of their award prior to the formal presentation at the CentralStar Annual Meeting. Checks are made payable to the university or technical school. If you’re a winner, expect the money to pay for your spring semester.
The applicant must be presently enrolled in a four-year college or a one- or two-year technical college or short-course program in an agricultural-related field OR be a high school senior admitted into one of the aforementioned programs. Also, the applicant or their parent(s) must have purchased more than $500 in semen and/or farm products from a CentralStar Cooperative representative during the previous year. Since the CentralStar merger first started May 1, 2019, the $500 limit includes purchases from the former East Central/Select Sires and NorthStar Cooperative, during the previous year.
