As a full-time Artificial Insemination (A.I) Specialist, you’ll experience the rewarding career of helping dairy and beef customers excel in herd reproduction and productivity. Genetics and reproduction are key performance indicators on farms; so, your expertise in this area is valuable to our producers. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a team of agricultural professionals, including other A.I. Specialists, DHI Specialists, Genetic Consultants, Reproductive Specialists, Area Sales Managers, and/or Team Leaders.Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Work hands-on with cattle at various types of dairy and beef farms;
- Responsible for proper heat-detection and A.I. services;
- Grow knowledge of reproductive physiology and synchronization protocols;
- Learn and help with record analysis and reproductive consulting;
- Incorporate use of electronic heat- and health-monitoring systems;
- Carry out activities independently or with a small team; and
- Upload appropriate electronic paperwork and documentation daily.
Qualifications:

Experience a career working with CentralStar Cooperative, the genetic and reproductive leader of artificial insemination (A.I.) in dairy and beef cattle with the largest and fastest-growing Dairy Herd Information (DHI) program in the United States. This position will work closely with genetics, technology, and reproductive consulting for dairy producers and fellow team members. The goal is to provide and implement genetic and reproductive-management recommendations to dairy producers using dairy-technology and herd-management programs in cooperation with Select Sires, Zoetis, CowManager, DHI, and more.Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Communicate with producers to design breeding programs to meet his/her individual genetic and reproductive needs.
- Utilize tools and programs to analyze, monitor, and troubleshoot reproductive problems or opportunities.
- Utilize programs and tools to implement on-farm strategies to optimize the number of replacement females with superior genetics.
- Schedule and provide the Select Mating Service (SMS) program to dairy producers in CentralStar Cooperative’s Wisconsin market area. This includes, but not limited to, implementation of genomic data, analysis of herd pedigrees, and linear evaluation of cows.
- Plan and facilitate Select Reproductive Solutions (SRS) services, including consultation and customized reproductive-management programs to help producers troubleshoot challenges and improve herd performance.
- Utilize data to develop progress reports for review with herd owners and the CentralStar Cooperative team.
- Conduct analysis of farm records to accurately benchmark reproduction, genetic, demographic, health, and production statistics.
- Schedule and implement meetings to provide data analysis and consulting services to dairy producers and their farm-management teams, including but not limited to, A.I. Specialists, nutritionists, veterinarians, and bankers.
- Proactively market our genetics, services, and product portfolio to maximize industry advantages.
- Co-manage integral key accounts with other senior staff members.
- Build relationships with prospective clients and maintain partnerships with current clients.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the dairy-cattle industry is necessary and
- Bachelor’s degree in dairy/animal science, agribusiness, or a related area is preferred but not required.
- Excellent writing and communication skills;
- Exceptional speaking and discussion skills, including content preparation, dynamic delivery efforts, and the ability to interact with a small audience and answer questions;
- Positive work ethic with a service-orientated attitude;
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team structure;
- Polished skills in the overall use of dairy-related technology, including DairyComp 305, BoviSync, DART (formerly PCDART), heat-detection systems, etc.;

The full-time DHI Specialist is an integral part of a dairy farm’s professional consulting team. Vast information impacting herd productivity, cattle health, animal welfare, sustainability, and profitability can conveniently and accurately be revealed with just a few ounces of milk. As a DHI Specialist, a major part of this career opportunity will be to advise customers on testing services to support an efficient, healthy, and profitable cow herd. DHI Specialists collect milk samples, process paperwork, and assist dairy farmers with data analysis and decision-making to benefit the future of their operations.Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Transport DHI-testing equipment and racks with vials to farm;
- Set up and plug in testing meters;

This full-time role with our research and development (R&D) business unit, known as AntelBio, supports ongoing research projects focused on the design, development, and implementation of molecular diagnostic assays for dairy and beef cattle. The position emphasizes laboratory-based research, experimental design, data analysis, and applied field research to advance molecular diagnostics within the agricultural industry.Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Conduct research activities related to ongoing projects involving the design, development, and implementation of molecular diagnostic assays.
- Perform laboratory work using molecular biology and microbiology techniques, including PCR and ELISA.

Full-time, first shift Full-time entry-level Milk-Sample Technicians work as part of a team in a state-of-the-art milk-sample-processing environment. Under the guidance of the facility supervisor, Milk-Sample Technicians carefully view and analyze milk samples for a variety of data points. They provide assistance to ensure equipment is operating properly, while making sure all samples are processed correctly by following strict guidelines set by the National Dairy Herd Information Association.Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Assist with moving and organizing milk samples for processing;
- Perform accurate preparation of various chemicals for analysis of milk samples;
- Use state-of-the-art equipment to analyze milk samples;
- Prepare sample vials for use by team members in the field;

- Incorporate use of electronic heat- and health-monitoring systems;
- Carry out activities independently or with a small team; and
- Upload appropriate electronic paperwork and documentation daily.
Preferred qualifications:
- Strong agricultural background with a dairy and/or beef focus;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Outstanding people skills, with service-orientated attitude;
- Exceptional work ethic, with ability to work on your own and with a team;
- Valid driver’s license; and
- Willing to travel, daily, to customers within a certain distance from your home.
- A.I. experience and knowledge of on-farm software is preferred, but not required.
